Operator Training and Education
Training Opportunities
In 2007, Mt. View Sanitary District along with 10 East Bay water and wastewater agencies joined together in an effort to train new, certified plant operators. These agencies contracted with Solano Community College to bring courses from the school’s accredited Water/Wastewater Technology Program. Today, a total of 22 agencies from Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano Counties sponsor the Bay Area Consortium of Water and Wastewater Education (BACWWE) program, offering no-cost, college-level training to students interested in a career as treatment plant operators.
