Board Highlight - Gregory Pyka
Meet MVSD Board Director, Gregory Pyka (Greg). In 1993, Greg’s father-in-law told him of an MVSD Board Member retiring and that perhaps he might be interested. His 33-year tenure is marked by thoughtful leadership, respect for others, and a steadfast commitment to the public good. After decades of dedicated service, Greg will retire from the Board effective December 3, 2026, leaving a lasting impact on MVSD and the community we serve.
Greg worked for Shell Oil Marinez Refinery for 33 years, 9-1/2-yrs in Operations and 23-1/2-years in the Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) department as a Certified Para-Professional with certifications from the American Petroleum Institute, API-510 & API-570.
He served with distinction as the MVSD Board President, Vice President, and on the Personnel, Planning, and Public Information Committees. His contributions to key initiatives, including the Strategic Plan, Capital Improvement Plan, and Sewer System Management Plan, reflect his steadfast dedication to advancing the District's mission, vision and core values.
We admire his dedication to our community and wish him the best!
