Feasibility Study Update

The Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Wastewater Municipal Service Review recommended a feasibility study to investigate the feasibility of a potential consolidation between Mt. View Sanitary District and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District. Both Districts agreed to voluntarily and jointly participate in a feasibility study.

The consultant presented the Boards of Mt. View and Central Contra Costa Sanitary Districts with a progress update in June at the Regular Board Meeting. The presentation reviewed goals, guiding principles, scope, timeline, project status, and next steps.

The study plan is for a final report on its findings to be available in spring of 2026. The web page, https://mvsd.org/feasibility, will be updated throughout the study process with substantive information as it becomes available.
