Capital Improvement Progress
The Capital Improvement Program includes projects in the plant and collection system. The following information provides an overview of some of the program’s current projects.
Pipeline Cleaning & Televising Phase 3: This project is part of a comprehensive Condition Assessment Program to clean and televise every pipeline in the District’s 73-mile collection system. The data collected is used to prioritize defective pipelines and scope out repair, rehabilitation, and/or replacement projects. The Condition Assessment Program’s first complete cycle through the District’s entire collection system occurs in three phases spread across five to six years. The Program includes manhole condition assessment inspections as well. Phase 3 will clean and televise approximately 110,892 linear feet (~21.0 miles) of sewer pipe and conduct 754 manhole inspections.
888 Howe Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement: This project will construct a new sewer alignment within a new easement and abandon the existing sewer alignment in place. The project will primarily construct 442 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer and three manholes. Final bid documents were prepared, and the project was advertised for bidding on August 29th. A pre-bid meeting was held on September 16th, and the bid opening was October 14th.
Trunk Manholes Rehabilitation: This project will rehabilitate 16 trunk manholes on Martinez Refining Company property, primarily addressing corroding frames and covers, corroding steps, corroding concrete, and delaminating liners. New interior coatings will be installed, and a few manholes will be raised or lowered to grade. Final bid documents were prepared, and the project was advertised for bidding on August 29th. A pre-bid meeting was held on September 17th, and the bid opening was October 15th.
