Kyle Pickett is one of the newest employees at MVSD, joining the team in November 2025 in the role of Grants and Contracts Administrator, a position created to identify non-ratepayer sources of funding, develop competitive proposals, and oversee funding implementation. Kyle has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and has a wide variety of experience. From a journalist in Istanbul, Turkey, later transitioning into writing and compiling daily briefings for senior government leaders, NASA, and major Fortune 500 companies across key industries, ultimately leveraging that expertise to become a government affairs strategist.

He enjoys playing quadball (formerly quidditch) and is writing a book on the history of the sport. Kyle was a studio trumpet player for East Bay funk band, Trace Repeat’s album, The Oaktown Sound, and has been an officiant for five weddings (and counting!).
